Outfits: Blue on Blue

OUTFIT DETAILS:
Hat & Cardi: UO
Brooch: Vintage, antique mall
Shoes: Modcloth

Hello darlings!

I'm back with my final installment on my Mata Traders Remix Challenge of the Summerfest House Print dress.

It's been one swell summer and if I can tell you anything about remixing one piece over and over again, it's that this dress has surely taken me the extra mile.  I think it's the single piece in my wardrobe that has snuck it's way into my weekly wears time and time again and has been remixed far beyond what I've even shown here.   Who knew a house printed dress could be so versatile?  It has taken me to summer bbqs, graduations, church, open mic nights, days at the lake and has been suitable for some good ole hanging around the house with pizza and a Netflix marathon of some sort. Not bad, eh?

Anyhow, this time around I kept it monochrome...blue on blue (does anyone else hear that Bobby Vinton melody in their head now?)  A cardi over a dress is ye olde summer uniform for me, so of course this dress was destined to be remixed into such an outfit.

One more sweet tidbit: As I've gone on and on in my previous remix posts about how much I adore Mata Traders dresses and the mission of the company itself, "to work with organizations (across India & Nepal) that educate, employ, and empower woman... given the opportunity, thrive in a sphere of meaningful work that is outside their homes and families".   Take a peek below of some of the woman that are part of these cooperatives and artisan groups that hand make the gorgeous dresses and accessories that Mata Traders puts out.  If you want to read more about Mata Traders and their mission...take a jump right here and in the meantime, you can also receive 10% your order with the code MATA_SHADES.

Challenge now complete.  Which look is your favorite?

Until next time!  Love Bunches,

Outfits: House Boat // Mata Traders Remix Challenge

OUTFIT DETAILS:
Headscarf & Bag: Vintage, thrifted
Sash: Vintage, gifted from friend, Andrea of Sherwood Hollow
Shoes: JCrew Outlet

Hello and happy Tuesday all,

I'm back with part 3 of my Mata Traders challenge of remixing their Summerfest House Print Dress.  This time around I wanted to keep is casual and easy.  You know, an outfit perfect for picnicking, walking the trails in my neighborhood, and grabbing iced coffees with a friend.

I'm not an overly casual person and most days if I am out and about I wear a dress however, I am always on the hunt for dresses that are breezy and comfortable.  This dress truly fits the bill in that department.  Summers here in Northeast PA aren't deathly hot, so layering this piece with a simple tee and adding a headscarf and my jelly flats were perfect for this particular day of adventuring and taking in the summer sun. And as for my little boat bag - it stowed away a couple of granolas, my lipgloss, and favorite pair of sunnies and I was good to go.

How do you dress for comfort in the summertime?

Final part: Monochrome all the way...

Interested in finding out more about Mata Traders, fair trade, and their mission?  Take a hop, skip, and a jump this way to read more and enjoy 10% off your order on the Mata Traders site with the code MATA_SHADES . There are so many darling prints and gorgeous pieces to choose from...take a peek and see what I mean.

Until next time.

Outfits: Poprocks // Mata Traders Remix Challenge

OUTFIT DETAILS:
Hat: Thrifted
Necklace & Bag: Antique Malls
Shoes: Modcloth

Happy hump day darlings!

Today I'm bringing you my second installment from the Mata Traders Remix Challenge of my Summerfest House - printed dress.  This time around, I wanted to keep it simple - no layers!  It's such a great dress, it actually doesn't need any which is why it's quite perfect for a hot and humid day like this scorcher.

As I kept the color palette neutral last time around - this time I wanted to add small pops of brights - red, turquoise, a smidgen of jade green in my hat and I was feeling quite fancy and fine.  You know because pops of color rock.  Get it...pops rock?  Ok that was super cheesy, but color always puts me in a festive and chipper sort of mood, so there you go.

As I mentioned before, Mata Traders is a super cool Fair Trade Company ...you can read more about them HERE or in my previous remix post.  Their products are beautiful and made with care and quality by women across India and Nepal.  As a little bonus right now - take 10% off your order on the Mata Traders site with the code MATA_SHADES .  There are so many lovelies to choose from, take a peek and see what I mean.

Well I gotta run, but I'll see ya real soon.

Hello darlings,

I'm back this season with another remix challenge from Mata Traders.  As you may already know, I'm a ginormous fan of this company and their mission.  Not only are Mata Traders awesome quality and not to mention gorgeous...they are a Fair Trade company.  Their pieces are sewn by members of women's cooperatives in India and Nepal which in turn provides a way out of poverty and a better future for these women's children.  Pretty awesome, right?

Anyhow, this time around I am remixing the Summerfest Dress in houses print.  Gah, I'll say it again, I'm a sucker for novelty prints and this one is perfectly cute and quirky.  Also, the cut of this dress is divine - gotta love a full skirt, yeah?

This is one of a four part remix.  If you remember the previous remixes I did with Mata Traders - I remixed by occasions and seasons. (See HERE and HERE).  This time around, I decided to remix by  different color palettes.

First up: I'm Black and Blue.  I really wanted to create a more neutral color scheme - so as the dress is blue and white - I wanted to throw in black, brown and ivory, to create a more classic look.  Speaking of neutrals - looks my neutral colored feathery friends wanted to join in on the challenge too.

Next up: part 2: A little color... but until then I wish you a terrific Tuesday.
