Outfits: House Boat // Mata Traders Remix Challenge

Headscarf & Bag: Vintage, thrifted
Sash: Vintage, gifted from friend, Andrea of Sherwood Hollow
Shoes: JCrew Outlet

Hello and happy Tuesday all,

I'm back with part 3 of my Mata Traders challenge of remixing their Summerfest House Print Dress.  This time around I wanted to keep is casual and easy.  You know, an outfit perfect for picnicking, walking the trails in my neighborhood, and grabbing iced coffees with a friend.

I'm not an overly casual person and most days if I am out and about I wear a dress however, I am always on the hunt for dresses that are breezy and comfortable.  This dress truly fits the bill in that department.  Summers here in Northeast PA aren't deathly hot, so layering this piece with a simple tee and adding a headscarf and my jelly flats were perfect for this particular day of adventuring and taking in the summer sun. And as for my little boat bag - it stowed away a couple of granolas, my lipgloss, and favorite pair of sunnies and I was good to go.

How do you dress for comfort in the summertime?

Final part: Monochrome all the way...

Love Bunches,

  1. I like how you paired the dress with the head scarf this time. And that bag is so cute! Summers here are really hot and dry so when I'm not in the a/c at work, my uniform consists of shorts and tank tops.

  2. What a cute print! Also, I love the ship embroidered bag. :) Just by looking in the pictures you make it look completely different in each outfit. That's a talent I'm trying to work on.

  3. You're the real creative! love each of your uniqueness looks. The bag is too cute and the headscarf is too cute:).

  4. he dress is adorable, and the vintage bag coordinates perfectly! LOVE! What a perfect summer look!

Idealism never goes out of fashion

  5. I love your unique spins on this dress- you are so inspiring with your remixes and playing with accessories! I love have a mix of dresses too, because even when I feel like being casual a dress is usually more comfortable- and I feel at least half way put together :)

  6. This dress really is super awesome! I loved your other looks with it too and this is one is also absolutely adorable! It really looks like its made for you :)
Thank you for your last comment! They always make me really happy :)
Lots of love to you dear Marisa!

  7. You look amazing in this dress and the head scarf!!! Yay! You always know how to style things up!

  8. Oh,so lovely!
All the things which you have are cute♡

  9. I love your little boat bag! And I love what you said about wearing dresses to go on walks and picnics and to meet friends. The idea of the "casual" dress is so cute and retro and simple, a story you tell well in your post. Indeed, dresses are my favorite comfy summer option, the runner-up being a fun tee or blouse with capris.

  10. What a great location! Gotta love shoes you can walk in water with, right? :D Love the print and fit of the dress, and that bag is perfect with it!

  12. Hi, Marisa! How have you been? I'm sorry I haven't visited your blog in so long! I'm glad I can at least take a peak at your life through IG, though ;).

I love this dress so much! The pattern is adorable and the ways you've paired it with is majestic!
