A couple Saturdays ago I attended the PA Eastern Bloggers Meetup held at Terrain, right outside of Philly.  Twas a sweet afternoon indeed meeting up with other gorgeous gals of the blogasphere and gobbling up the yummiest pumpkin carrot pancakes I ever did see.  We chatted of all things halloween, our awesome hubbles, and even cars...yes cars, lol.  And if you've ever been to A Terrain before - well, it's basically the Anthropologie of the outdoors boasting the prettiest plants, a darling & delicious cafe, and garden-wares to make your heart swoon for days.  Um yeah, it was hard leaving that place.  Yes, I want to go back...like now!

The only lovely lady of the group I met before was Katherine from Of Corgis and Cocktails - and I can hardly believe that was even a year ago that we hung out.  But all the gals were sweet as can be and I simply cannot wait for another meetup to be held.  Aren't they the best?

Happiest hump day darlings!  May your Halloween be full of chocolate and plenty of ghouls.

Meet Me in the Meadow Remix

Oh hello there,

I'm back with part of 2 of my Mata Traders remix challenge.  Up to bat this time is the Meet Me in the Meadow Dress.  Between the whimsy floral print, the pleats, and the retro silhouette choosing this beaut to remix was an obvious thing for me.  Instead of remixing through the seasons, like I did the last time around, I decided to remix through the occasions.  I have a lot of dresses in my closet (I'm sure many of us do), so my absolute favorites are always the ones I can take from day to night.  This just happened to be one of the perfect pieces to do just that.

At School: Study Date // Coffee Break

As the cooler months roll around, you can find me from day to day in a pair of tights, some flats, and a dress with a sweater on top.  I like to keep it comfy, just a tad casual and cozy as I hit the coffee shop for a little pick-me-up.  Layers & some comfy shoes make this dress an easy piece to conquer the day with.

Around the Office MataOffice1

Before we moved to a new town and I was working full time at a school - this was pretty much so my uniform.  Adding the blazer, blouse, and lady tie - make the dress look professional and pulled together without being plain old boring office-wear.

The Night Event - Wedding // Dinner PartyMataWeddingParty1

Speaking of celebrations - the full skirt here paired with deeper colors make this the perfect piece to party the night away in whether it be at a wedding or dinner party.  I kind of love going a wee bit over-the-top and wearing a bold accessory to complete the look.  This fancy schmancy headband was really all I needed to do just that.

mataweddingcollage There you have it - remix challenge complete.  Thank you Mata Traders for letting me join in on the fun and celebrate Fair Trade Month with you.

Happiest Friday darlings!

What a busy month it has been for the little fam and indeed - there is just no other way to put it.  We've been out of town nearly every weekend and last one had us celebrating the night away at a friend's wedding - 2nd one in less than a month - I just love this time of year!  (I'm sure I sound like a broken record saying that again and again).

Anyhoo, I've been making some more practical kind of choices when it comes to dressing lately due to nursing my son  - so I'm always looking for dresses that slip on over the head and are easy to pull up for just that.  This particular sweetie pie was perfect for me and for dancing with friends.  You know what was not practical though?  My shoes!  Epic fail.  As much as I love them, the heel height and the fact that they are a half size too big (blame it on my feet shrinking) made them a beast to twist and shout on the dance floor in!  Wanna see?

The Mr. caught me on camera doing / attempting / failing at the electric slide.  You'll see how cool I really am....ha!

Nice, right?  I'll chalk it up to cuteness over coolness I guess.

There's lots on tap this weekend for me - a trip to Philly and a PA blogger event.  What's on tap for you?

Wishing you one sweet weekend my friends!

The Sailor Moon Dress Remix

Hello hello,

Can you even believe we are nearly half way through October already?  Boy how time flies.  Anyhoo, as you may know this month is pretty darn sweet - not only because of all the candy and halloweening that takes place, but because October is Fair Trade Month.  Pretty cool, eh?  In celebration of Fair Trading, Mata Traders challenged me to do some remixing of my own with a couple pieces from their current Fall collection.  As much as I love their mission and have purchased Mata pieces in the past, how could I not get on board with this challenge?  The Fall '13 collection is practically perfect in every way - vintage silhouettes, some whimsy prints, all very flattering to say the least.  As for me, I was immediately drawn to The Sailor Moon Dress - um hello, that collar!  I decided to style it for each season - gotta love a dress that you can wear all year long:

SUMMER LOOK - Simple just like summer - there are no layers needed because the collar does all the talking here.  The dress itself is easy and breezy and perfect to throw on with a pair of flats and a boater hat.

Hat & Pendant: UO
Bag: Vintage, thrifted
Shoes: Modcloth

AUTUMN LOOK - As school starts back up and the leaves begin to fall, I love putting a preppy spin on this piece with a plaid button down underneath, a beret, and a pair of navy tights to keep warm from the cool autumn air.

Deets:
Sailor Moon Dress: c/o Mata Traders
Hat, Blouse, Brooch: Vintage, thrifted
Bag: Jack Spade via eBay
Tights: Target
Shoes: Seychelles

WINTER LOOK - I live on the side of a mountain so it's all about the layers up here.  Socks and tights, a wooly hat, a heavy sweater, and warm scarf are where it's at when the temp hits zero degrees.  I love how the neutral gray of the dress lends itself well to pairing with bright colors - especially on a dreary winter day.

Deets:
Sailor Moon Dress: c/o Mata Traders
Sweater: Gift from grandmother
Hat & Scarf: UO
Belt: Vintage from grandfather
Bag: Vintage, thrifted
Tights: Modcloth
Boots: Michael Kors via Marshall's

SPRING LOOK - Finally everything is blooming again, so naturally I'm inclined to work florals into this look with a flowery headscarf and lacy rose knee highs that seem very appropriate for the Spring season.

Deets:
Sailor Moon Dress: c/o Mata Traders
Jacket: Target
Scarf: Modcloth
Brooch: Vintage, thrifted
Socks: UO
Shoes: Poetic License via Amazon.com

Above all, I adore how completely versatile this dress is.  There are endless possibilities when it comes to styling it - so I know without a doubt that it will become a piece that will take me for many many miles.

Hope your weekend is ga-ga-gorgeous darlings!

Piece of the Pie

The Deets:
Dress: Modcloth
Hat, Necklace, Shoes: Vintage, thrifted

Hi there darlings,

Just a few shots little shots of the community where my family stays while we are vacationing down south.  It's not hard to see why I have fallen so head over heels in love with this place.  But I could gush on and on about that for days, so I'll leave it at just that.  Aren't the brightly colored houses so dreamy though?

Today and tomorrow find me out of town again - this time accompanying the hubble on business, but nonetheless, it should be fun. Here's to hittin' the open road once again.  So that's about it - not to be brief or anything but there's a certain suitcase out there calling my name :-).

Hope to catch up with you all very soon!
Love bunches,
