Outfits: House Boat // Mata Traders Remix Challenge

OUTFIT DETAILS:
Headscarf & Bag: Vintage, thrifted
Sash: Vintage, gifted from friend, Andrea of Sherwood Hollow
Shoes: JCrew Outlet

Hello and happy Tuesday all,

I'm back with part 3 of my Mata Traders challenge of remixing their Summerfest House Print Dress.  This time around I wanted to keep is casual and easy.  You know, an outfit perfect for picnicking, walking the trails in my neighborhood, and grabbing iced coffees with a friend.

I'm not an overly casual person and most days if I am out and about I wear a dress however, I am always on the hunt for dresses that are breezy and comfortable.  This dress truly fits the bill in that department.  Summers here in Northeast PA aren't deathly hot, so layering this piece with a simple tee and adding a headscarf and my jelly flats were perfect for this particular day of adventuring and taking in the summer sun. And as for my little boat bag - it stowed away a couple of granolas, my lipgloss, and favorite pair of sunnies and I was good to go.

How do you dress for comfort in the summertime?

Final part: Monochrome all the way...

  1. I like how you paired the dress with the head scarf this time. And that bag is so cute! Summers here are really hot and dry so when I'm not in the a/c at work, my uniform consists of shorts and tank tops.

  2. What a cute print! Also, I love the ship embroidered bag. :) Just by looking in the pictures you make it look completely different in each outfit. That's a talent I'm trying to work on.

  9. I love your little boat bag! And I love what you said about wearing dresses to go on walks and picnics and to meet friends. The idea of the "casual" dress is so cute and retro and simple, a story you tell well in your post. Indeed, dresses are my favorite comfy summer option, the runner-up being a fun tee or blouse with capris.
