Happy Thanksgiving weekend darlings! (for all you celebrating in the States)

Today was the first in years...well, could be the first time ever that I braved the streets for some good old Black Friday shopping.  Shopping in general is not so much my cup of tea, but as the fam and I were celebrating the weekend in Philly with my inlaws, Albert and I wanted to take advantage of hitting a few of our favorite places, including Ikea and Anthropologie.  It proved to be a little interesting indeed as people were acting like vultures attacking the sales racks.  Gracious me!  Oh well..at least it was 60 degrees and sunny which made for the best of days to take on the masses.
How did you spend your Black Friday?

On a different note: thanks for being patient with me as I slowly get settled in the new house.  We won't have internet for another week so naturally I am way behind in reading all your loverly blogs...a phone just does not suffice for this.  On the other hand, with no internet and no cable it's been pretty darn tootin nice organizing, decorating, and getting the house in order as well having lots of good old fashion fun with the family.

Until next time, have the most fantastical weekend darlings!

  1. I'm impressed with your bravery on Black Friday! I stuck to Amazon for the day : ) Got quite a few things too for good prices! I'm feeling confident with my Christmas list this year and I want to get done ASAP! I hope you enjoy the time disconnected from the internet : )

  3. Adorable outfit! I don't particularly like mall shopping or with huge crowds but we did go to our local downtown which was much less than hopping so it worked out nicely! :) -Lo

  11. You know that this is the first year I've heard of Black Friday? We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here so I've just never come across it... But now that I shop online a lot and follow bloggers from the US I do! Yay for more sales! ;)

  15. oh Marisa, hang me on a hook and leave me out to dry! i've been such a lame lemon and haven't visited you in quite a while. things have been a bit cray but sure am glad to come along and see this wonderful welcome today!

such a fun lot of photos and i adore the color pops and de-saturated bits. and i really love that you're wearing your grandmothers sweater, that's pretty special! the MK boots are ahhhh-mazing and with your fetching floral tights it's achieved new levels of darling.

many blessings on this Thanksgiving weekend and all the rest of the year through. sounds like you might need to take a soothing bath after braving the masses on Black Friday. what an ordeal, hope you got some good stuff along the way too though.

sweet news on the home front! i'm overjoyed for you both Maris, happy nesting....mayhaps leave the internet off a while longer. seems mighty productive results are happening and i think i need to try this out soon too. i'll be taking a blog break after next week. i'm burnt, like seriously and there's some shizz going on also. another reason i haven't made the rounds as much as i'd have liked. ahhhh, life right? seeing you definitely brings about some really glad eyes....you are such a special person - thank you for all the comment love you've left me. xoox ♥

  19. Ooh, I love your boots! I've been living in slouchy boots all winter, I'll be sad when it's too warm to wear them anymore.

You're very brave to go to the sales! We have similar ones here on Boxing Day (day after Christmas) but I've never been tempted to fight the crowds. I usually go after things have been picked over and find some nice things then, hehe.

  20. Oh goodness, Marisa! That smile just brightens my day - gosh you are gorgeous!
I didn't set foot anywhere near any place to shop for Black Friday unfortunately :(. We slept late and missed out on everything, haha!
I hope the move is going well darling, and I'm so glad you're enjoying your family time without internet :). Unfortunately, that most likely won't be the case with Josh and I! (That's the first thing he's getting hooked up once our house is ready to move in, LOL)

  21. Glad your settling well! I tend to skip the sales as its pretty much the same here in London lots of crowds and trampling over the racks. I tend to look online instead from the comfort of home :) You look as lovely as ever in this outfit.

I didn't realize you had brought from us! I remember a package with a Marisa so it must have been you... so pleased you like the dresses. Cant wait to see how you style them, we will have to feature you on our blog.

    Speak soon
