Hello darlings,

Though I realize I wore this dress in my previous post I actually wrote this post a few weeks back and seeing as this week has been dedicated to my grandfather, I think it's rather fitting to post it now.

Just another day running left and right.  Life is busy right now.  Busy is good though as change is soon on the horizon.  As you can see running around has left my dress in quite a wrinkle.  Yes, I run around in wrinkles at times...perfection is overrated, though I hopelessly strive for it.  Anyhow, after a day of running errands I walked through the door and the first thing out of my grandfather's mouth was, "Marisa, tell me something...  are your legs that color or are those your stockings?".  This little old Italian man from Jersey whom I call Opa, never ceases to make me laugh with his silly and unexpected remarks.  He was being completely serious, so I smiled, gave him a kiss and told him, that was just the print on my stockings...hehe.  He then went on to say, "well, that's a beautiful dress".  Wrinkles, creases, and all, Opa always tells me how beautiful he thinks my dresses are.  He is sweet.  He is my Opa.

These are truly the little moments I will miss but remember always.  Thanks so much for all your very kind condolences.  Reading through each one of them really brightened my day.  In times like these I am so thankful for such a lovely community of blogger friends.

On quite a lighter note...for all who wondered, this was my Halloween costume:

Mary Poppins and Bert
And Keane was a wise and hip little owl:)

That's all for now.  I wish you a beautiful weekend!

Love,

  32. awe lovie, i am so very sorry for your loss. the tribute you wrote about your Opa was beautiful and must have been extremely cathartic in your healing process too. writing always seems to help me through the darkest days. he certainly was a humble hero and you've captured him in the most respectful light.

i had a little tear reading your memory about your Opa. reminded me of my Dad, he wasn't especially fond of tattoos and when i got my 1st one on my ankle he used to call it a "bruise". "Lindy (his nickname for me) how'd you get that bruise in the same spot again?" he'd say. awe, those kinds of moments are special touch stones. i loved hearing yours.

the halloween costumes are a smash hit - as is your lovely decadent dress. you make me think about a wonderful dessert treat and also Marie Antoinette...the Kirsten Dunst version - so soft and pretty! xo ♥
