Before I begin, I just wanted to say how very thankful I am to be part of such a supportive and uplifting blogging community. As it was quite a tough week to get through with the passing of my grandmother, the condolences many of you sent through comments and emails really shed sunshine upon my dreary days. I appreciate each and every one of you dear blogger friends so very much, despite the fact that we may live miles apart. You are simply the sweetest and really know how to make a gal like me feel good.
After taking a short break, it is nice to be back and in the swing of things again. The photos above are from my recent vacation to Hilton Head Island, SC. If there is one thing I've realized time and time again vacationing on this tiny little island off the coast, it is that I could most definitely make my home here. There really is something quaint and enchanting about this lush and tranquil little beach town. I guess the next best thing would be moving to a lush green valley under an open sky and amongst tall green mountains...which is exactly where I am moving (once I actually get there). Yes...our closing date has been moved back again due all the flooding PA has received from the recent hurricane. Keeping my fingers crossed it all happens before Christmas...ha!
Anyhow, all this extra time on my hands has given me plenty of time to start cleaning out my closet, which feels very good. I haven't been buying anything new either (for months now)...except for the occasional thrift purchase or gift from my hubby:) Seems that having less stuff is somehow less stressful. Here's to simplicity.
Well that's all for now folks. I just thought I'd stop in and say hello and finally get caught up on your loverly blogs as I am way behind...please forgive me.
Until then, have a delightful week!
Love,
I've been on a bit of a blogosphere hiatus so I didn't realise your grandmother had passed...so sorry to hear it but delighted that you're feeling better and getting back into a routine. There's nothing better than some spring cleaning to help you declutter both your life and your head. I came back from five months backpacking last summer and it felt great carrying everything I needed around in one bag - like a turtle with their house on their back! It didn't take long though for me to start amassing and hoarding stuff afresh :) Your pics are gorgeous too as always :)
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear from you again :) Tough times indeed, and I love how supportive the blogging community can be! You look lovely as always, the print on the dress is so pretty! I really need to clean out my closet again- I'm so sentimental I hold onto too much stuff! xx

I'm very sorry to hear about your grandmother :( But now you have another wonderful guardian angel taking care of you from heaven :)
ReplyDeleteI know it isn't the same, but my dog that I've had for 11 years passed away 2 weeks ago. I couldn't even bring myself to blog about it. And I know it's not the same as losing a person, but it's the same in the way that it feels like something is now missing.
Keep smiling, pretty girl!

Hey Love,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to read this, and my heart and hugs go out to you. You can have my shoulder anytime you know, and I'd hope you know she is in a happy place, watching over you.
You look gorgeous on this windswept beach, your clothes always make you look so gorgeous and whimsical at the same time. <3
BTW I think my guest post might have gone a bit wonky, my photo hosting site has failed me, and I am now manually shifting all my photos to a new one. Such a pain. :(
