Old City

History is a symphony of echoes heard and unheard. It is a poem with events as verses.

On Sunday afternoon the hubster and I headed off to Old City, Philly to grab something sweet at Franklin Fountain: an old-fashioned ice cream and soda shop. This place is soooo deliciously incredible that it was featured on The Best Thing I Ever Ate on The Food Network and on Man vs. Food on the Travel Channel. In Chef Duff fashion, I had an Egyptienne Egg Phosphate - a yummy rose water and orange concoction, which was pretty much so amazing. Al took one swig and told me it was too much like drinking perfume. Hehe...typical man, I thought. Anyways, he went the way of the pedestrian and stuck with the mint chocolate chip, which was truly the best ever.

We later took a stroll around Christ Church, where George Washington and Ben Franklin once attended. Both beautiful and rich with history - I just love places like this. Besides that it was 90 degrees and I was nearly sweating bullets so onto home we were headed since I clearly was wise in my choice of attire on this day. Oh well, at least the hat was my saving grace.

That's about all for now. Hope you are having a spectacular week darlings! If not, don't fret. It's hump day and we're almost there:)

Love,

  17. Franklin Fountain sounds amazing- I probably would have ordered exactly what you did- and you looked completely adorable even if your outfit wasn't exactly practical. I'm just dying over your turquoise sandals and your hat, in addition to being practical, is pretty much perfection :)
