It's been quite some time, quite a while since I've been around. Sheesh, I don't even know where to start. I guess I can start by saying that over the last several weeks I felt like I needed some kind of a break. Not necessarily just a break from here...the blogasphere, but much more from everything. Blame it on the introvert in me.
February has been rather emotional to say the least...both up and down, happy and sad. Since I last posted, I lost someone who was very dear to me, someone who I loved so completely and adored in every way, shape, and form. My grandmother (or Oma I call her), passed away on February 9th in the comfort of her home, surrounded by our whole family. She gave me some of the best memories of my childhood. I could go on forever. She was a loving wife of 63 years to my grandfather. Truly a gem to be around. As my hubby and I have been living with her and my grandfather since August, the house has felt quite empty without her. Even now, I am holding back tears as I write this, but smile as I think back to the many memories of her I will treasure for years upon years. How blessed I feel to have had her in my life for so long. I take comfort knowing that she is in a better place.
While on Valentine's Day we laid her to rest...how fitting for such an amazing and loving woman - my hubby and I also celebrated our 7th Valentine's day together a few days earlier. He is my best friend, my partner in crime (hehe), and soulmate. He took me downtown Philly to a French restaurant called Amuse. I think this was most definitely the best food I have ever feasted on. We ate dinner by a cozy fireplace as our waiter made the night quite special for us with the most impeccable service and most scrumptious food. Thanks honey, for such a beautiful evening. It was more than I could have asked for.
Then February 20th rolled around. Another big day to say the least as we celebrated my son's first birthday. It's hard to believe how fast this year has flown by. He is such a sweet little boy...a true joy and the (other) love of my life. How thankful I am for him. He shares the same birthday with my Oma...so we celebrated and remembered her as well. It was very special indeed.
Well that's my February in a nutshell. As this is a fashion blog, I leave you with a few pics of my Valentine's outfit. And now that I am back, I have lots of catching up to do with all you darlings and your beautiful blogs. Can't wait to see what you all have been up to:)
See you soon!
Love,

Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry about your dear Grandmother. I posted the other comment in response to your comment on my blog. I hadn't read the actual post yet. My condolences, which is a term that seems severely inadequate and I wish there was something more I could say or do. :-(
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for peace and comfort for your family.
