Hello there darlings,
It's just less than two weeks til Christmas and I can hardly believe how this month is flying by! This past weekend was spent back in my hometown to visit my family and cut down a tree together which is a tradition we do most every year. So off to the tree farm we headed in search of a perfect Christmas tree for my parent's house. It was fun, it was muddy, and of course it wouldn't have been a trip unless we broke out into Christmas song - which my dad indeed did on a tractor full of strangers. Good King Wenceslas, anyone? Anyhow, the day was a success as a tree was found and no one lost an arm in the process :)
So tell me, if you celebrate Christmas do you prefer to chop your tree down, get one from a lot, or go artificial?
Have a loverly Tuesday darlings!
Love Bunches,
How lovely. It is the type of things you see in movies.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely family.

i have never EVER had a real tree in my house :( now i dont really have a choice to have anything other than a fake tree in the DR, but i hope one day i'll be able to have a real one! i hear they smell amazing..

ReplyDeleteLoving those boots, Marisa! When I was growing up we always had a wonderful tree! Now my honey and I usually get a small one in a pot so we can then plant it somewhere (which never happens). This year I don't think we'll get a tree because we just got a little kitten and I'm scared she is gonna eat the needles...
ReplyDeleteAww holiday traditions make me feel all warm inside. My family doesn't really celebrate Christmas, but they do get an artificial tree for me and my brother's sake. One day, I hope to have a real one!

Look how cute you are! Can't even handle it! We just went to a lot a few blocks away from our house and picked out a tree and carried it home. It was fun trudging through the snow carrying a giant christmas tree! :) I cannot believe that christmas is right around the corner! So much to do yet! :) xo
ReplyDeletesounds like a lovely weekend, sadly I get my tree down the local high street, we don't get to cut them down!! I love having a real one though :) xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun time, this looks like such a great thing to do as a family!! I absolutely love your outfit, perfect for the occasion and so lovely! Those boots are awesome and i adore that skirt.
ReplyDeleteWe get a tree from a local lot, this year I let my dad and brother handle the picking/packing up of the tree because it was -30 that day. But we always decorate it together and we had lots of fun, Mr. Duke even helped!

Ooo such pretty pictures! You're the only one I know that can pull off such colorful outfits and have it work perfectly. Like all of this pleases my eyes haha. And we always have a fake one- my mom never wants to deal with the mess a real one brings. I've actually never seen a real Christmas tree! I hear very good things about it though =P
ReplyDeleteI love this post Marisa! I think it is SO funny that your dad sang on the tractor, that is the complete opposite of my dad, but my mom sure wouldve joined in! I remember picking a tree from a tree lot when we were little, but I have lived away from my family for a bit now so I need to make my own traditions I guess! Also, the tight and collared shirt underneath are genius, I totally want to try and rock a tie!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am so glad you got your package! I was getting a bit worried it had not arrived! I just thought the ruffle collar on the dress would look darling on you and I cannot wait to see the post!!! (I got a little owl for myself too, I could not resist the cuteness)! So glad you like them!

That photo of you and your husband really pulls at my heart strings. <3 So precious! And you are so darling! I love the layering of this outfit and your THRIFTED (??!) boots! Perfect.
ReplyDeleteAlso, my family was going to cut down a tree, but then we just ended up buying one at a lot closer to town. Though when I have my own family, I think I want cutting down a tree to be part of the Christmas tradition. ;)

All your layers are so cute!
ReplyDeleteA tree farm sounds really fun. Certainly they have full trees than the tree in our living room. My family has had a fake tree since I can remember and this year they got a new one that had the lights built in. Saved time AND was the first time in ages we had lights that were the right size for these star-shaped light decorations. But my boyfriend and I have gone up to the mountains with his family these past two years to get a tree. It is so much fun to go up to the mountains even though it is snowy and wet and the trees aren't as thickly branched.
You always look so cute, and it seems your family is the coolest!

your family is so adorable!! your tights are the best color. so, my favorite of all is a fresh, live tree that you cut yourself at a farm BUT i have to say, i am loving my tiny tabletop artificial tree this year! so cute and so much less mess. :)
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is darling! I love those gloves! And your tights, and boots, and collar....So cute! These photos are beautiful! A real tree is a must in my family but we just visit a tree lot every year. Cutting down your own tree has got to be a fun experience!!

My parents used to go to a tree farm for Christmas trees, but I've only done it a couple times with them. I love real trees and it's such a fun experience at a farm as well. Love that cape! xx/Madison

I would love a real tree. Here, it's so hot that they wilt and perish too quickly to try. But gosh I love the smell. SO beautiful.
