I'm back from Pittsburgh and what a whirlwind of a trip it was! Being on the other side of the state is so different...I don't even know if I could explain what this means except for I do believe Pittsburgh is the most peculiar city with it's jungle gym like layout...I feared for my life several times while my husband navigated over and up around the hills, through the tunnel, and under the bridges. Yes, we got lost...several times...and it snowed to boot! Life is always an adventure.
The only photo I got to show for it is cozily nestled away on my instagram, however I did manage to snap a few on our pitstop at my parents house to drop off the kiddo. The weather that day was a glimpse of spring and so sad to say it didn't stick around. Oh but here's a fun little tidbit...while at a local thrift store that evening before we got back on the road, a group of middle schoolers parked themselves in the next aisle over and were making fun of anyone who passed by their way. "Oh great", I thought, just wait till they see me. Sure enough 5 seconds later I began to hear the chitchat and the snickers..."Oh my gawd, look at her...bahahahaha....you gotta see what she's wearing....bahahaha." Nice, right? Better yet, as I shopped through the racks, they were critiquing everything I was looking at. This went on for at least five minutes and I just ignored it. It was pretty annoying but so hilarious at the same time. Here's hoping my photo or video didn't end up on Facebook somewhere. The whole thing quickly brought me back to my school days...and I just had to laugh.
Wishing you a week full of laughter!
Wishing you a week full of laughter!
Love Bunches,
I love your skirt, it's so colourful! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely outfit! That skirt is amazing.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes...Pittsburgh is the craziest city I've ever had to navigate! I used to go there all the time. I always ended up getting lost on routes that I'd driven dozens of times. It's crazy!
This skirt is so pop with these color blocks on it, beautiful !!!

Middle school kids are the worst! They are so brutal. Oh well, you have a happy and successful life! AND you look great! Good thing I wasn't with ya. I probably would have confronted them and made fun of their little abercrombie jeans and sparkle t-shirts.
ReplyDeleteHahaha....Thanks Chaucee! They were more the Hot Topic mixed with Wet Seal kind:)
Deleteoooh - i love it! especially the skirt and the scarf - ugh, you're making me want summertime even worse now!

I am glad to hear you had a lovely time in Pittsburgh. This is absolutely one of my favourite outfits of yours, the skirt is darling and so are those shoes! I love all of your separates combinations, it's great inspiration for me going into autumn here :)
ReplyDeleteYou have once again outdid yourself, I love this primary-patterned outfit! Thanks for stopping by and saying hi too, I sincerely appreciate such thoughtful comments, they sometimes are what get me through the day!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what those middle schoolers were talking about, you have amazing style. In five years they are going to find your blog and WISH they could be you! I avoid that age group at all costs, they can be so cruel!
Ahh I hate when groups of kids behave like that, although seriously this outfit is amazing and if they don't realise that then they lose.. I love how the top half is so classic and French looking and then the skirt is so quirky and different! :) xx
ReplyDeleteIsn't that funny how those kids probably thought they were being so sneaky and discreet-like you couldn't hear them, haha. I love your uniqueness! This outfit is especially beautiful-how fantastic is that skirt? I love the pictures by the swing, also. Makes me feel nostalgic :)
ReplyDeleteAhh that skirt is beautiful loving the colors on you! Hope everything is going well for you xx Ilana
ReplyDeleteugh middle schoolers.... all i can say. sigh. haha
ReplyDeletei loveee your skirt, and i would have never thought to pair it with stripes, but it looks awesome!
xx
Ugh kids are so ridiculous and rude. Middle school was the WORST!! I'm glad you laughed it off!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE your striped top with this amazing skirt. The pops of colour along the bottom make me smile so much. You look awesome

ReplyDeleteI LOVE that skirt! So adorable! I'm glad you had a wonderful trip! I'm sorry about the immature kiddies. Is it sad that I get those comments and snickers at my school sometimes?? I guess some people never grow up!
ReplyDeleteAna
It's sad that people older than middle school still resort themselves to that immature behavior and feel the need to make fun of others. I'd chalk it up to jealously. You are gorgeous! :)

Marisa, I am about 15 minutes away from Hershey in Lebanon County. This summer I'll be living in Palmyra. Although, I go to school in Huntingdon County.
ReplyDeleteYou're so beautiful! I really love your outfits... You're blog is so worth following, you are an inspiration (:
ReplyDeleteHayley
Well lady, you look amazing. I love blue and green together and I love the mixed prints sort of happening here!
ReplyDeletePittsburgh is a really weird place. I am going there next weekend? I love that it's only a two hour drive from me! It's fun, but the people cannot drive and I'm never really sure what's happening.
And that story? Oh my. People are so ridiculous and rude. I was at a house show the other day and some girl straight up took a picture of my friend and I on her phone...with the flash on and didn't apologize or anything. Just giggled. It was strange. People should be less obvious about being rude/creepy.
What! That's just ridiculous People are so odd! Definitely creeper behavior for sure. I think I would have been really tempted to snap a picture and do the same thing back to her...haha.
DeleteYOu're so photogenic! You just can never have a bad picture. Lovely post as always! :)
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable! Retro♥

Eek I would've had to take a tranquilizer on that trip! I am absolutely terrified of tunnels, bridges, and curvy "if-you-fall-off-of-this-road-it-is-straight-death" kind of roads haha!
ReplyDeleteOh being made fun of for what you are wearing is the worst. People now days are so mean and hateful instead of kind and intrigued by the unique. I'm really sorry that they made fun of you doll. You know that you have all of us to come to and we all love your style! I'm sure their are much more of us than those little picky grade-schoolers anyways. Someday they'll have remorse and see that you were different than the actual carbon copies out there.
And on the other hand - I think you're beautiful and stylish.
xoxox
Argh, school kids are the worst! I had it the other day in the bank "she wears things my mum would wear" and two girls stare at me =/ I was thinking your mum must wear some pretty super stuff!
ReplyDeleteBut anyway, you look awesome ALL the time so no need to worry about little kids xox
i love your skirt! love, love love it. and your top is amazing.
ReplyDeletei actually always kind of loved pittsburgh for it's crazy layout, massive bridges and strange tunnels - i found it quite enjoyable!
i really don't get middle schoolers. some middle schoolers made fun of me once in a mall, and i wasn't wearing anything but a dark blue tee and some pink shorts from some normal place, and i was just thinking 'you're 12 and that mean already?' but then again, i think being a middle school girl, you have to mock others because they are at that age where they aren't that secure and confident enough not to.
I always hear lovely things about Pittsburgh but I've never been there.
ReplyDeleteYour skirt is so lovely!
yeah i know what you mean about middle schoolers, some teens can be very immature and mean sometimes, i remember once i was pacing outside and some 12 year old ones looked at me and said " stop eating fatty" i was irritated but i decided to ignore them, they don't deserve our attention
