Call Me Cupid - A Thread Share Post

Dress: Swapped with Amanda
Hat & Brooch: Vintage
Blouse: Vintage (in shop here)
Sweater: Gift from Mom
Tights: Topshop

Happy Valentine's all you Sweethearts out there!

Just as promised, I'm back all decked out in hearts and pink and all that other Valentine's themed jazz for this love-full week.  Actually - not really.  What I mean is that I didn't' intend to walk out of the house dressed like one of Cupid's street squaders....er, kind of actually like Mrs. Claus when I threw on Amanda's lovely little pinky-red vintage shift dress but truth be told, I'm totally fine with that :-)

Miss Salvaged Strawberry herself, sent this perfectly mod beauty of a dress over my way for our monthly Thread Share.  Being so cold as it was - (isn't that the complaint these days?) - I didn't shy away from wearing layer upon layer even if it bulked this 5'2 petite gal up like a linebacker (I exaggerate).  I was cozy and warm and that's truly all that matters these days, right?

Yet again, Amanda and I styled the dress up so similarly - funny how that always seems to happen?!  Red and black and patterned tights were the name of the game for us.   Take a leap over here to see more from her remix.

So before signing off - I wish you one loverly loverly heart filled day.  My internet presence has been a little sparse this week as I prepare to take a team of teenagers to compete in a drama competition this weekend, but I do hope to catch up with you all soon!  As for tonight - the Mr. and I will be celebrating over dinner with one another - though I do believe that love should be celebrated in small ways each and every day :-).  Cheers to just that!

Love bunches darlings,

Winterberry - A Thread Share Post

Happy New Year darlings!

I'm finally back home and recuperating from the holidays and all the sweets and pie and other yummy little confections I stuffed myself to capacity with.  Now bring on the healthy eating resolution once again :-)

Dress: Vintage
Cardi: UO
Bow: Etsy - Janelle Haskin
Pendant & Tights: Modcloth
Shoes: Vintage

Today is another Thread Share post between me and the lovely Amanda of Salvaged Strawberry.  This time around I sent her my strawberry print cardi (how apropos, right?).  As a blizzard came through our way over the holidays, I thought there be no better way to style it than over a thick and cozy knit vintage dress and heavy tights.  I probably should have had a coat on - but being the summer sort of gal that I am, wearing a coat is always a chore for me...hehe.

As for Amanda, she was thinking along the same lines as me and went with a blue top and tan bottom.  Though I'm actually wearing a dress, I thought it was pretty funny how similar our color choices were as far as our garment choices were concerned.

You can see more from Amanda's post right here.  So that's all for now darlings.  It's pretty frigid where I'm at today, so I'm off to get a nice tall mug of hot chocolate to warm up.  Have a lovely Thursday!

Doo Wop - A Thread Share Post

Outfit Details: Dress: Vintage (last seen here)// Sweater: Thrifted // Bow: Modcloth // Brooch: Antique Mall // TIghts:  Modcloth // Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell

Hello there darlings,

I'm back with another thread share post and today Amanda, from Salvaged Strawberry, and I are remixing my vintage plaid dress.  I was feeling all 50s and doo wop pairing it with my red cardi and big bow and as I walked I could nearly hear "Blue Moon" or "At the Hop" playing in the background (or in my head at least).  How's that for a blast from the past?  Now hand me a strawberry milkshake, grab me some skates, and let's call it a day.

Amanda took a completely different route with styling the piece and I can't help but just love how she layered it up and pulled from the more neutral tones.  Shimmy over THIS WAY to read more on her blog.

Have a loverly Thursday darlings!

Oh Deer! - A Thread Share Post

Outfit Details: Sweater: Swapped with Amanda, sold here // Hat: Handmade Gift // Dress & Shoes: Thrifted // Tights: Modcloth

Well hello there darlings!

It seems so long since I've come around these parts, but as you can imagine my sister's wedding down in SC had me quite busy as a bumblebee and I wouldn't have had it any other way.  The whole event was far too dreamy for words and quite the magical day it was with the perfect beachy, blue sky backdrop.  I promise down the road, there will be photos but first...

The very lovely Amanda of The Salvaged Strawberry and I decided that the second Thursday of each month, would be dedicated to thread-sharing (aka swapping) with one another as we both believe in wearing secondhand not to mention, we are both curvy gals so styling one another's wardrobe would be a fun little task to take on.

Of course I was tickled pink when I opened up her package and laid my eyes on this cozy deer knit sweater.  Gah...how could I not be in love?  Anyhoo - this is how she styled it.  It's said that great minds think alike - and apparently that's exactly what we were doing when we threw it over a plaid dress.

You can read more about the gal behind The Salvaged Strawberry and see more on how she styled this sweater by hopping over this way.  Better yet, if you fancy snagging this little beauty up for yourself, the sweater is happily nestled in Amanda's Etsy shop right here.

Wishing you a fantabulous Thursday darlings!  If you are on the northern east coast like me,  bundle up, start the fire, and stay warm!

Love Bunches,
