Hello there,

I'm headed back to ye olde hometown this weekend for some family bday celebrations and I cannot wait to pack my bags and hit the road, Jack.  I'm just a family kind of gal, ya know?  So naturally after this very long month of being busier than a bumble bee, it will be very nice to relax and spend some quality time with my parents and sis and even get some of mom's home cooking if only for a couple days.

As for me and my wee little family, well we celebrated the one warm evening that came our way with a big cup of italian ice ...and yes, that one warm evening was truly something to celebrate after what seems to be the longest winter ever.  I'm truly looking forward to seeing plenty blooms and leaves on the trees as I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an actual spring of warm weather.  Can you see my excitement as I even dressed in green from head to toe?  Actually it was part of a monochrome outfit challenge that the Flock Together gals took part in last week...I chose to go the route of Kermit the Frog obviously.  Did I ever mention that I so badly wanted to marry Kermit as a little girl?  The ironic thing is that the Mr.'s voice actual sounds a bit like Kermit the Frog, I kid you not - so I guess you could say I married my Kermit, ha!

Have one fine weekend darlings!

Outfits: Downtown Daisy

Outfit Details:
Sweater: c/o Chicnova
Hat, Blouse, Brooch, Skirt: Vintage, thrifted
Bag: Vintage, belonged to my Oma
Shoes: Modcloth (sale)

It's Monday and I've had one weekend chock full of gal palling around downtown, grabbing some yummy Indian food that I've had quite the hankering for lately, thrifting to my lil ol heart's content, and hockey-gaming the night away.  Now it's time for a little r&r!

Though the closest downtown to where I live really isn't much of a city at all, it does boast some of the prettiest old buildings that are sadly falling apart or in the process of being knocked down.  I couldn't help but be smitten with this old Engel Building across the street from where we ate the other day.  Half of it was an old dress shop and the other half was completely demolished in the back.  Apparently the city is preserving the facade of this old gem.  Anyhoo, I'm just a tad obsessed with old forgotten places if you couldn't tell already, ha!  I would just adore seeing places like this completely restored back to their old beauty.

So with that, I'm off to grab a second cup of joe.  I wish you a happy week ahead darlings!

Hello hello again,

I gotta say, after a straight few weeks of being far too cold to venture outdoors, it felt rather sweet to put on a dress again and go coat free to boot.  Spring is in the air and I am beginning to feel it.   I've been in a bit of a rut lately stylistically speaking because it seems that with the frigid temps, all I want to do is put on the biggest, coziest sweater and slouchy hat I can find, throw on some leggings (yes, I did say leggings) and boots and call it a day.  Not that there's anything wrong with this, but I always feel more myself in a dress.  So bring on the warmer spring air.  I am more than ready.  I'm sure most of you are too, right?

Anyhow, it's been incredibly busy as of late.  I know, I know...this is the song I've been singing in every post this month, but it's just so true!  With warm weather comes new places to adventure, new projects to take on, and new memories to uncover.  Within the next few weeks I'm hoping to sign up to take lessons for my bass guitar...I can play, but I want to get better at it, finish a new song I've been working on (I've been writing music since I was 16), and complete a DIY coat rack for the baby's bedroom.  I know typing this all out will give me the kick in the pants that I've been needing as the winter months have brought out the evil slacker in me.

So that's just that!  What new things are you planning to take on with this fresh new season approaching?

Dress & Brooch: Vintage
Hat: UO
Blazer: F21 (very old)
Shoes: Michael Kors via Marshall's

Why hello there,

Has everyone sprung forward yet?  I tell you, though that hour of sleep we all lost is pretty darn precious to me, this is quite certainly my favorite time of the year.  Longer days (period).  I am singing the hallelujah praises on that one!

Anyhow, as spring is almost here...like many of you, I decked myself out in brightly colored florals.  It was just one itch that has been waiting to be scratched for some time now.  Though it's still pretty cold, thank you Mr. Sun for popping out from behind the clouds.  Now let's hope that this snowstorm Vulcan that all the weather peeps are predicting is just one big fluke.  I'm not sure my nose or my arms can take another goose bump.  So that's just that.  I am counting down the days till spring in hopes that warm weather will finally grace us with her presence and tending my garden plot, long evening walks, and kayaking the lake can be here again.  Fingers crossed.

Until next time darlings,

Etsy Loving: Black & White & Green All Over

Hi there darlings,
I'm black and white and green all over today with very favorite Etsy finds & a couple of cuties from my shop as well.  With spring (and St. Patty's Day for that matter) right around ye olde corner, I was kind of on a green/nature inspired kick here:

With a name like Foxhole Print Shop, I couldn't help but just be drawn to Nicole's quirky, sweet, and cool shop of inky illustrations.  She was so very kind to send me her Dapper Dandy Dude below who is now gracing the wall in my living room, sweetly watching over my piano corner as I play.  If you are in the market for some wall whimsies yourself, I would highly recommend taking a hop on over to her shop.  Not only are her prices very reasonable, but her illustrations are full of cool detail and seriously as cute as they come.  Oh and Nicole is an absolute sweetheart as well!

Anybody having a hankering for a shamrock shake now?  I surely am?

Wishing you one fine weekend darlings!
