Tights: Modcloth

Hello there darlings,

It was just last weekend that the little fam and I hit the road to venture back into my hometown to celebrate my oldest son's fourth birthday with our closest family.  Yes, I have a four year old on my hands now, as hard as that is for me to believe.  It seems that with turning four, Keane has discovered the new found love of taking photos with his mama and he is quite the little charmer in front of the the lens, ha!  Anyhow, it was incredibly lovely to celebrate his special day with bright blue skies and a shining sun - a refreshing contrast from the grey skies and copious amounts of snow we've seen lately.

As for me, I'm donning another fantastic frock thanks to Sammi.  This double-bowed beauty was much fancier than anything I've worn lately, but I quite love that.  It's nice to feel perfectly pouffy and pretty and put on your sparkliest shoes from time to time, cold and snow or not, right?

So that's just it.  It's snowing again now (surprise!), so I'm hitting the hot cocoa like it's going out of style. ;-).  Until next time!

Outfits: Jumper

 Outfit Details:
Sweater, Hat, Skirt: Thrifted, Vintage
Tights: Hue
Shoes: Clarks

I've had the best of luck this year with finding comfy cozy sweaters at the thrift store...so I guess you could say a chunky sweater over a dress or skirt has been my uniform all winter long.  It's funny because I was never much of a sweater kind of gal til I moved to the frozen tundra...er, to the mountains of Northeast, PA actually, but now that I am here, I want nothing more than for my arms and my nose to be warm and not all goose-bumpy and chilled as ice.  Move aside fussy dresses & high heels.  I'll get back to you once spring peeks her head out from behind the curtain once again.

Oh and that bridge...isn't that a tad creepy?  Fact: when I was in 9th grade, all the melting ice and snow from the blizzard and flood of '96 made it collapse and off it went floating down the river never to be seen .... or fixed again. Wanna see for yourself?...Check out this video which is a tad frightening but also humorous at the same time:

See what I mean?  Anyhoo it's Friday and I'm so thrilled that the weekend is here!  Wishing you one cozy and relaxing weekend darlings!

Outfits: Zelda

Outfit Details:
Dress, Blouse, Hat, Bag: Vintage, thrifted
Belt: JCrew
Tights: Modcloth
Boots: Delia's

Hello there darlings,

It's snowing.  Yes, nothing new here.  So naturally I gathered up a couple of my gal pals - who happen to be teens that are part of the youth group I help out with and we hit the road for some thrifting, some Panera, and some picture taking.  Girls just want to have fun, ya know?

The night was filled up with bowls of piping hot soup, Vampire Weekend on the radio and snuggle-umptious sweaters that we each snagged up at Salvation Army.  Not bad for a frosty evening out, eh?

Anyhow, this is what I wore.  The hubs said I looked like a character from Zelda.  (To him this was a good thing).  And just for the record...I'm totally wearing my dress backwards, if you haven't already noticed.  Sometimes a good "alteration" doesn't require a needle and thread.

So that's just about it.  I'm currently in the kitchen making funfetti cupcakes.  The snow brings out the baker in me.  How about you?

Top & Tights: Modcloth
Scarf: Won via Streets & Stripes

Happiest hump day darlings,

It's hard to believe we are half way through this week already, but indeed we are.  According to the weatherman, another storm in this never-ending snowmageddon is headed our way starting tonight.  Yes, break out the pot of soup and piping hot cocoa once again, because it's gonna get cold up in here, up in here ;-).

Anyways, last Saturday gave the fam and I an actual day out of the house we've been hibernating in as of late.  So what did I do?  I explored old abandoned buildings of course.  Well, kind of, not really...but in the next town over from us there are a lot of old industrial facilities that are no longer up and running, so it kind of gives the explorer in me a nice place to poke around take some photos.  Nothing like the feeling of being out and about after spending a whole week snowed in.  It's like a whole new found freedom...ha.

Ok that's all for how.  I have a Valentine's party to plan for tomorrow which will most likely be canceled, but if so, that will only mean more cupcakes for me.  Either way you look at it, it's a win. :-)

Wishing you a sweet week.

Outfits: Banana Cream Pie

Outfit Details:
Dress: Swapped with Amy
Cardi: Steinmart
Hat: Target
Shirt, Brooch, Bag: Vintage
Tights: We Love Colors
Boots: Michael Kors via Marshall's

Hello there darlings,

Another super snowy Monday is at hand...do I sound like a broken record yet?  Ha, I think I'm on my second cup of coffee this morning and I've only been out of bed for a couple hours.  Certainly, it's going to be a day of staying inside, bundling up and keeping warm here on this frosty covered mountainside.  That's ok though - I'm resolving to spend this day indoors catching up on hemming up my pile of recently thrifted dresses and maybe even whipping up a batch of banana muffins...because anything sweet warms the soul.  How about you?  Are you stuck indoors today as well?

As for what I'm wearing...I spotted this banana cream pie colored vintage cutie up for swaps from fella Flock Together gal, Amy and I couldn't help but be drawn to how soft and comfy it looked!  Of course I was smitten with how Amy styled it and was planning on copying her completely from head to toe being that wore a headscarf and the cutest bow-toe heels ever.

I guess the dress gods had different plans for me though because boy was I swimming in this dress when I tried it on!  Sometimes I forget how much shorter I am than everyone else...ha!  Oh well, nothing that a sash and plenty of layers can't take care of, right?  Now everything is peachy keen.

So that's that.  Wishing you one peachy keen Monday darlings!
