Hello darlings!
I'm back with my final installment on my Mata Traders Remix Challenge of the Summerfest House Print dress.
It's been one swell summer and if I can tell you anything about remixing one piece over and over again, it's that this dress has surely taken me the extra mile. I think it's the single piece in my wardrobe that has snuck it's way into my weekly wears time and time again and has been remixed far beyond what I've even shown here. Who knew a house printed dress could be so versatile? It has taken me to summer bbqs, graduations, church, open mic nights, days at the lake and has been suitable for some good ole hanging around the house with pizza and a Netflix marathon of some sort. Not bad, eh?
Anyhow, this time around I kept it monochrome...blue on blue (does anyone else hear that Bobby Vinton melody in their head now?) A cardi over a dress is ye olde summer uniform for me, so of course this dress was destined to be remixed into such an outfit.
One more sweet tidbit: As I've gone on and on in my previous remix posts about how much I adore Mata Traders dresses and the mission of the company itself, "to work with organizations (across India & Nepal) that educate, employ, and empower woman... given the opportunity, thrive in a sphere of meaningful work that is outside their homes and families". Take a peek below of some of the woman that are part of these cooperatives and artisan groups that hand make the gorgeous dresses and accessories that Mata Traders puts out. If you want to read more about Mata Traders and their mission...take a jump right here and in the meantime, you can also receive 10% your order with the code MATA_SHADES.
Challenge now complete. Which look is your favorite?
Fashion is an art and you are one of the artist. Love how you've created this lovely dress in each look:). As a busy mama we are - it's not easy to find of much time to pick out an outfit unless it comes out naturally:) as our passion is. Hope your summer is good so far:). ox.

Absolutely lovely! I adore both your beautiful ensemble and the lush, late afternoon sun kissed green backdrop you opted to shoot it against.

That is such a gorgeous dress! You styled it absolutely beautifully and I can see why it's so versatile :) Also, those heels are to die for. I've heard such good things about Mata Traders but don't own any currently. I didn't know that they had such an amazing mission (I'm a feminist at heart), and now there's no excuse not to get myself a dress from them ;)

My favorite iteration of them all. I love funkiness within monochrome, and you're doing that gorgeously. And the brooch is priceless.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is versatile. I love the print. I've never heard of Mata Traders I'll have to check them out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun outfit! That print always tickles me. I want to know more about your shoes though- super unique and fun ones.
ReplyDeleteI love how you've put unique spins on it- casual, dressed up, super summery, and for a bit cooler weather. Blue is a neutral in my book so I can see how you've gotten so many uses out of this dress. I would love to stand in your closet and see all your fun shoes in a row. That's not weird, right?? :) Such a great company with a great mission, and it's great to see the faces behind the amazing work!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress, but Oh My God those shoes!
ReplyDeleteWhat could be more summery than layers of cobalt (or, indeed, a better ye olde summer uniform than a dress and cardi?)? As for the dress, what a great challenge for an even greater cause. I enjoyed reading about all of the different places you wore it (sounds like a summer well spent!). Oh, and the shoes are amazing. They remind me of Irregular Choice.
ReplyDeleteAwe, what a great company! I'll make sure to pin some of their pieces so I can purchase something when I'm not broke.
