Little Sprout

Hello there world,

As you may have noticed - I've gone a bit missing for the last couple or so days and now I can finally say - our little sprout is officially here!!!

Clayton Philip (otherwise known as Clayt) was born at 2:27 PM on the summer solstice weighing in at 8.9 oz and 20 inches long.  :-)  He is as sweet and as affectionate as can be and as for the whole labor and delivery - well, it was the most beautiful thing I could ever have imagined.  I may just go into that later though.

Mama has bounced back super quickly - really, I feel better than I ever have in the past couple months...so last night this little fam of four went to the community garden to plant some more goodies in our plot and just get some good ol fashioned fresh air.  Keane of course has taken on the big brother role in all it's glory and just loves kissing our newest tiny member all the time and helping me care for him like the proudest big brother in the world.  Though we are a tad bit sleep deprived - we are in total bliss just loving our two little guys up right now.

Thanks so much for all your sweet comments and wishes in my previous post and on Instagram.  You all are so very sweet and really make this gal feel like a million bucks :-)

Talk soon & love bunches,

Oh hello there darlings,

I've been a wee bit quiet these last couple days and am far behind in what's going on out there in blogland, but all for good reasons...right now I am in the hospital getting ready to deliver baby boy.  A lot has happened since my last post....all good things and well, now it's looking like it's actually going to happen...TODAY!

That's about it...I just wanted to pop in quick and say a quick hello...I hope to catch up with you all very soon.  Of course, I shall be posting a few pics here and there on my instagram - so you can follow my adventure along there if you wish to see more.  Wish me luck my friends!

Hello and Happiest Monday Darlings!

Today I am so thrilled to be featured on Cut Out & Keep as one of their DIY Fashionistas with my retooling an old collar DIY.  If you are not familiar with this site, let me just say that once you venture over to it, it will be hard to not spend an hour or two perusing all the cutie pie craft tutorials it boasts.  I was tickled pink when the lovely Cat contacted me about sharing this simple yet adorable little collar DIY over there today.  Take a hop, skip, and jump this way to read more...

On Fridays We Frolic

Scarf & Brooch: Vintage // Thrifted
Boots: Michael Kors via Marshall's

Oh hello there darlings,

I'm still hanging in there getting closer and closer to my due date.  The very latest is that I'm 3cm dilated, 80% effaced, and the baby's head is down...all very good news to my ears.  As for now, the weather has cooled down and it feels quite refreshing actually as carrying around a little bundle in your belly is like carrying around your own portable heater - so I'm welcoming the cool breeze and even the chance to don some boots and tights any of these days.

In other randomness...lakeside walks are lovely and so is watching all the locals who fish here in the park.  Kind of makes me want to join along in the fun.  And I'm telling you still, vintage tent dresses and babydolls have saved the day and kept me from burning a hole in my wallet.  I would highly recommend going this route if you are pregnant as opposed to dropping your dollars on maternity wear.

There you have it.  I'm finished with my rambling...it's Friday and all I want to do is lay by the lake, plant some more veggies in my garden, and perhaps concoct some kind of frozen treat...like chocolate covered coconut frozen bananas.  Wish me luck my friends!

And Then There Were 3

Dress: Old Navy (2009)
Hat: Target
Vest: TJ Maxx
Necklace: Lucky Brand // Gift from mother
Bag & Boots: Thrifted
Socks: UO

And then there were 3 weeks to go... til my official due date that is.  This week I really made a dent in preparing for baby boy's arrival...you know, all the fun stuff like washing his clothes, painting the nursery, giving his chest of drawers a facelift, and packing my hospital bag.  Yep, it's getting real.

It's funny, during this time around with my last pregnancy I was swollen so bad that I could only wear crocs (don't judge) and had already thrown in the towel with wearing my wedding ring on my poor ring finger which turned into what looked like a sausage..hehe.  I'm happy to report that not eating for two...but rather just eating as I need and more healthy I might add has made all the difference in the world...a 40 pound difference!  Wanna see?  Check out this photo of me in the same dress 3.5 years ago exactly three weeks before my due date with Keane:

Everything from my nose to my toes ballooned up...eek.  It was not a comfortable thing my friends.  Still, isn't it always a fun thing to go back and look through old photos?  I always get a kick out of seeing how things have changed.

So that's about all for now.  Have one loverly Tuesday darlings!

Lazy, Hazy Summer Holidays

Cardi: Anthropologie (Sale)
Top: Asos
Shorts: Topshop (2011)
Scarf: Vintage // Thrifted
Shoes: Modcloth (2009)

Above photos taken from the Mr.'s (@aldisal) and sister's (@myfreebirdsoul) instagrams.

It seems that my little family of three...soon to be four is sneaking their way into my photos as of late and I quite love it!  During our mini Memorial Day break, we were able to spend some time with my family, which always makes this family gal very content.  The day was spent noshing on grilled goodies, my favorite roasted carrots and beets, and who could forget about the smores?!  Nope, I don't always wear dresses or skirts...I've had these little polka dot shorts sitting in my closet for a wee while now and I thought it was time to pull them back out (thank you belly band for me being able to still wear them with a baby bump).

Sitting around an outdoor fire with the whole fam is most certainly the ideal way to end such a relaxing weekend.  Cheers to more summer holidays ahead!

Happy Weekend darlings!
