Seven

Happy Anniversary dear Albert.
Seven years ago today I married my soulmate and best friend.
It's been quite an adventure full of many twists and turns, and I simply would not have it any other way.
Thanks for all your love and for always having the biggest heart.
In your company, I couldn't be a happier girl.
I am truly blessed.
After all, you never forget to pour me honey in my tea.
Here's to a life full of laughter and many more Starbucks in the snow.
Love bunches,
Ris

Last Saturday was another lovely afternoon spent in Philly with Albert at Penn's Landing.  It's the perfect little spot to walk around by the waterside under the summer sun.  We stopped at a little stand to get pina coladas to cool off, and while we were waiting,  a man approached us (you can see him walking towards Albert in the photo above) and asked if we were newlyweds.  How sweet I thought.  I chuckled then proudly replied back, "we will be celebrating our 7th year wedding anniversary at the end of this month".  As I said those words, I found that statement so hard to believe.  Where has the time gone?!  It feels like yesterday that we were in our final semester in college sitting next to one another in class passing stupid little notes, "what's your favorite band" (yes, we are dorks like that).  Anyways, I guess time flies when you are having fun with your best friend.  Not to sound all gushy, it hasn't always been easy but it's been an adventure and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Have the most lovely weekend darlings!

Sun so hot I forgot to go home

I walk without flinching through the burning cathedral of the summer. My bank of wild grass is majestic and full of music. It is a fire that solitude presses against my lips.

This whole week has been burning, really burning - about 100 degrees, we're having a heat wave...a tropical heat wave...I feel a song coming on:) Anyways, the other day the famiglia and I off headed off to City Island (a small island in the river that connects to the city of Harrisburg) for a stroll, stocked up with plenty of cool water and some munchies. As we walked and talked and laughed, I didn't even realize how hot it really was or what discomfort I may have been in. I was purely distracted by the fun I was having with Albert and Keane. I wouldn't have wanted to spend any heat wave of an afternoon any other way.

Hope you are keeping cool too darlings! (or warm, if it's winter where you are)
Enjoy your weekend!

Candy Coated Wanderer

We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;—
World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems.

I don't have a whole lot to say today darlings. This past weekend really blew by me like a gail force wind. There is so much to do between now and the end of the month to prepare for our big move and to be quite honest, the whole thing actually feels quite surreal and too good to be true so much that I must beg for someone to pinch me and awake me from this dream. Anyways, enough jibber-jabber. I hope you darlings had a fabulous weekend. I felt like a jordan almond today with my choice color palette and and I quite liked that. Not that I particularly like jordan almonds...(does anybody, really?) they are just so pretty to look at. Handful of pastels, anyone?

On a side note: The dress was a swap with the beautiful and charming Miss Amber Rose of Laughing with Broken Eyes. If you haven't been acquainted with her loverly blog yet, head on over and check it out. She is a doll!

That's all for now, my eyes are getting heavy so I must be off to bed.

Much Love,

Before heading back home and back to work, Albert and I spent one more day in Philly upon his return. I wish days like this could last forever. How lovely to be free and without a single care in the world. We ventured through the streets of Philadelphia running about like two kids. During our travels, I had the most scrumptious-dilly-umptious honey and brie bagel sandwich at B2 Cafe...just another little bit to the make the day even sweeter. We ended up on boathouse row underneath a striking bridge where there wasn't a soul in sight. It felt completely like it was our own...our own little place to laugh, carry on, and enjoy one another's company.

Hoping your day is full of smiles and plenty of laughter!

As you can probably guess by now, my sweet Albert is back from Oklahoma safe and sound and in my company again. I couldn't be more content. It's funny, I think this was the longest we were ever away from one another since we've been married (which will be 7 years at the end of this month). Anyhow as the week was very long...I did manage to get all the things I planned to accomplished, which included repurposing an old dinette set for our new house. As I still have a long way to go till it's complete, I am already thrilled with how it is turning out. More to come on that at a later time. Now I just want to enjoy this evening with Al, strolling down Kelly Drive, sipping coffee and perhaps coming home and watching a little Harry Potter to get us in the mood for July 15th:)

Talk to you later darlings!

The weather has been so hot and humid here in Pennsylvania, that I simply cannot go out without a silly oversized hat to keep myself shaded. It's pretty brutal. Forget dresses and heels on the weekend... it's all about shorts or rompers when I am not in the office. How are you darlings surviving the summer heat? Have you melted yet?

Other than that, my week has been quite a blur. My hubby is far off in the land of Oklahoma helping his brother move for his new job. It's always a drag to be away from him, but I am taking it in stride. It will make it that much more sweet when I pick him up from the airport on Sunday afternoon. Until then, looks like my weekend will be filled with plenty of thrifting, headband making, and maybe even furniture repurposing for the new house. I'm also thinking about diving into the old series' Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes to pass some time along. Any suggestions?

Have yourself a splendiful Thursday!
Love,
